Unhappiness
It is very queer that the unhappiness of the world is so often brought on by small men.
Unhappy is the land that needs a hero.
If thou suffer injustice, console thyself; the true unhappiness is in doing it.
Although images of perfection in people's personal lives can cause unhappiness, images of perfect societies — utopian images — can cause monstrous evil. In fact, forcefully changing society to conform to societal images was the greatest cause of evil in the twentieth century.
In this life, we have to make many choices. Some are very important choices. Some are not. Many of our choices are between good and evil. The choices we make, however, determine to a large extent our happiness or our unhappiness, because we have to live with the consequences of our choices.
All blame is a waste of time. No matter how much fault you find with another, and regardless of how much you blame him, it will not change you. The only thing blame does is to keep the focus off you when you are looking for... reasons to explain your unhappiness or frustration.
We create our own unhappiness. The purpose of suffering is to help us understand we are the ones who cause it.
The greatest misfortune of the wise man and the greatest unhappiness of the fool are based upon convention.
