You cannot open a book without learning something.

No, you're not. You're small in time and in space. And you have this frail vessel called the human body that's limited on Earth.

Sometimes comparing can be a good thing: it can inspire us to work harder and reach farther. But for the most part, excessive measuring yourself up against others — especially when it becomes a way to put yourself down — is a colossal waste of time. It's a dead end. It won't make you do anything except feel horrible.
Once you begin being naughty, it is easier to go and on and on, and sooner or later something dreadful happens.
To live in the light of a new day and an unimaginable and unpredictable future, you must become fully present to a deeper truth — not a truth from your head, but a truth from your heart; not a truth from your ego, but a truth from the highest source.
You have to be confident in who you are and what you're doing. Of course, you try to evolve. I would never tell you, 'Today is the best I will ever be'. I'm always trying to be a better chef, a better dad, a better person.
The point is that you can't be too greedy.
If you can just be yourself, then you have to be original because there's no one like you.

One of the most painful parts of a breakup is having the feeling that your life is a story, and then the other person leaves and takes the story with them. And you're left there without it. You're left in this version of life that's basically a succession of events and interactions that don't seem to be going anywhere.
After a breakup, it takes a couple weeks for the fog to settle, but it's always a period of self-priority and growth. Life presents you with so many decisions. A lot of times, they're right in front of your face and they're really difficult, but we must make them.
