I like to keep a book underneath the pillow that I'm not sleeping on so I can reach over and grab it when I wake up. I don't always do that, but I like to. I try to make sure it's a book and not my laptop. I also try not to get too excited about who might've been trying to contact me while I was asleep.
I like to try to make the characters I play be as human as possible.
You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space.
But now in this day and age, people are more prone to go out to try new things to enhance their performance on the field — to enhance their physical appearance.
When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the universe.
Success is almost totally dependent upon drive and persistence. The extra energy required to make another effort or try another approach is the secret of winning.

It's about communication. It's about honesty. It's about treating people in the organization as deserving to know the facts. You don't try to give them half the story. You don't try to hide the story. You treat them as — as true equals, and you communicate and you communicate and communicate.
I don't write on topics that require a lot of urgency. But in 'Stiff', I wanted to change people's hearts about organ donation. Whenever I get a chance, I try to talk about that.
As an entrepreneur you keep trying things, and I try everything. I try business ideas, on our website we test everything, iterate, iterate, iterate.
All life demands struggle. Those who have everything given to them become lazy, selfish, and insensitive to the real values of life. The very striving and hard work that we so constantly try to avoid is the major building block in the person we are today.
That's the goal. Just to go out and not try to prove anybody wrong but just let your talents speak for themselves.
