People

We, the People, recognize that we have responsibilities as well as rights; that our destinies are bound together; that a freedom which only asks what's in it for me, a freedom without a commitment to others, a freedom without love or charity or duty or patriotism, is unworthy of our founding ideals, and those who died in their defense.
Here are the values that I stand for: honesty, equality, kindness, compassion, treating people the way you want to be treated and helping those in need. To me, those are traditional values.
What people don't understand is joining a gang ain't bad, it's cool, it's fine. When you in the hood, joining a gang it's cool because all your friends are in the gang, all your family's in the gang. We're not just killing people every night, we're just hanging out, having a good time.
No one is dumb who is curious. The people who don't ask questions remain clueless throughout their lives.
Anybody can be unhappy. We can all be hurt. You don't have to be poor to need something or somebody. Rednecks, hippies, misfits — we're all the same. Gay or straight? So what? It doesn't matter to me. We have to be concerned about other people, regardless.
People who are unable to motivate themselves must be content with mediocrity, no matter how impressive their other talents.
You can't please everyone. When you're too focused on living up to other people's standards, you aren't spending enough time raising your own. Some people may whisper, complain and judge. Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.
If the people cannot trust their government to do the job for which it exists — to protect them and to promote their common welfare — all else is lost.
I believe that people should take pride in what they do, even if it is scorned or misunderstood by the public at large.
I wish that more people, especially young people, were taught about self-love at a younger age.
Propaganda is amazing. People can be led to believe anything.
I believe it's our responsibility to show our communities the value of all people, to celebrate different, and to take a stand for acceptance and inclusion.
My little dog, he did not get ill. It is so funny that people get ill on a boat and dogs do not.
I like that there's no love as fierce as the love you feel for your family; that there's no one you feel more protective of than the very same people who can drive you crazy.
You work hard, you sacrifice for everything you do, and in one second, someone can tarnish your name — someone can bad-mouth you, and someone can say things. People let all of the good things gets washed away because someone spoke ill of them.
I want to make it clear that the black race did not come to the United States culturally empty-handed. The role and importance of ethnic history is in how well it teaches a people to use their own talents, take pride in their own history and love their own memories.
Inside every adult there's still a child that lingers. We're happiness merchants — giving people the opportunity to dream like children.
We need leadership in this country, which will improve the lives of working families, the children, the elderly, the sick and the poor. We need leadership which brings our people together and makes us stronger.
It's a facet of the gay rights movement that people don't think about enough. Why suddenly marriage equality? Because it wasn't until 1981 that the court struck down Louisiana's 'head and master rule', that the husband was head and master of the house.
