Yourself

Pause today and notice something you have worked hard on and recognize yourself for it. Acknowledge your effort.
Be kind. It's worthwhile to make an effort to learn about other people and figure out what you might have in common with them. If you allow yourself to be somewhat curious — and if you get into the habit of doing that — it's the first step to being open minded and realizing that your points of view aren't totally opposite.
You can get help from teachers, but you are going to have to learn a lot by yourself, sitting alone in a room.
It's easy to get wrapped up in sharing everyday life with a partner. It's fun to get lost in love and romance. It's the best. But holding on to yourself while doing that is the most important thing.

In Afghanistan, you don't understand yourself solely as an individual. You understand yourself as a son, a brother, a cousin to somebody, an uncle to somebody. You are part of something bigger than yourself.
With age, you see people fail more. You see yourself fail more. How do you keep that fearlessness of a kid? You keep going. Luckily, I'm not afraid to make a fool of myself.
You should feel beautiful and you should feel safe. What you surround yourself with should bring you peace of mind and peace of spirit.
If you can just be yourself, then you have to be original because there's no one like you.
I think that's the single best piece of advice: constantly think about how you could be doing things better and questioning yourself.
Our world is drowning in a sea of self-centeredness. You can make yourself quite unique right away by leaving this ocean of selfishness and choosing to be curious about other people.
