A man is given the choice between loving women and understanding them.
Be patient and understanding. Life is too short to be vengeful or malicious.
Travel early and travel often. Live abroad, if you can. Understand cultures other than your own. As your understanding of other cultures increases, your understanding of yourself and your own culture will increase exponentially.
'No one can make you successful; the will to success comes from within'. I've made this my motto. I've internalized it to the point of understanding that the success of my actions and/or endeavors doesn't depend on anyone else, and that includes a possible failure.
Fantasy is hardly an escape from reality. It's a way of understanding it.
