Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved.
Truth is everybody is going to hurt you: you just gotta find the ones worth suffering for.

People talk about physical fitness, but mental health is equally important. I see people suffering, and their families feel a sense of shame about it, which doesn't help. We create our own unhappiness. The purpose of suffering is to help us understand we are the ones who cause it.
We all, as engineers, doctors, have a big responsibility to bring smiles on the faces of suffering humanity.
The reward of suffering is experience.
The dominant characteristic of an authentic spiritual life is the gratitude that flows from trust — not only for all the gifts that I receive from God, but gratitude for all the suffering. Because in that purifying experience, suffering has often been the shortest path to intimacy with God.
Suffering is permanent, obscure and dark, And shares the nature of infinity.
