It seems women are expected to be so much more than men, which means we have to work that much harder. We're the ones under the microscope. We're expected to sound perfect. We're expected to look perfect all the time. We're expected to be style-setters, whereas the boys roll onto the stage in their jeans, T-shirts and baseball caps.
When you're young, you look at television and think, there's a conspiracy. The networks have conspired to dumb us down. But when you get a little older, you realize that's not true. The networks are in business to give people exactly what they want.
It is always wise to look ahead, but difficult to look further than you can see.
I wake up some mornings and sit and have my coffee and look out at my beautiful garden, and I go, 'Remember how good this is. Because you can lose it'.
Never look back unless you are planning to go that way.
I am suggesting that as we go through life, we 'accentuate the positive'. I am asking that we look a little deeper for the good, that we still our voices of insult and sarcasm, that we more generously compliment and endorse virtue and effort.
The trick to forgetting the big picture is to look at everything close-up.

Consider a tree for a moment. As beautiful as trees are to look at, we don't see what goes on underground — as they grow roots. Trees must develop deep roots in order to grow strong and produce their beauty. But we don't see the roots. We just see and enjoy the beauty. In much the same way, what goes on inside of us is like the roots of a tree.
The beauty comes with the balance. Everyone should find his own balance in his personal as well as his professional life. Once you do so, you will feel and look beautiful.
Well, you know, a lot of people look at the negative things, the things that they did wrong and — which I do. But I like to stress on the things I did right, because there are certain things that I like to look at from a positive standpoint that are just positive reinforcement.
I know that in life there will be sickness, devastation, disappointments, heartache — it's a given. What's not a given is the way you choose to get through it all. If you look hard enough, you can always find the bright side.
Open your refrigerator, your freezer, your kitchen cupboards, and look at the labels on your food. You'll find 'natural flavor' or 'artificial flavor' in just about every list of ingredients. The similarities between these two broad categories are far more significant than the differences.
I buy expensive suits. They just look cheap on me.
Charm them with your presence as soon as they look at you.
