I love a man with a great sense of humor and who is intelligent — a man who has a great smile. He has to make me laugh. I like a man who is very ambitious and driven and who has a good heart and makes me feel safe. I like a man who is very strong and independent and confident — that is very sexy — but at the same time, he's very kind to people.
There will be days when you feel defeated, exhausted, and plain old beat-up by life's whiplash. People you love will disappoint you — and you will disappoint them. You'll probably struggle with some kind of mortal appetite. Some days it will feel as though the veil between Heaven and Earth is made of reinforced concrete.
I was kind of a dark kid. I loved Halloween, and I loved vampires and the black and white old monster movies.
I'm convinced that probably everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. It's just one more reason to always try to be kind.
Wise sayings often fall on barren ground, but a kind word is never thrown away.
Because sorry to say, women run the house. They run the family. They hold things up. I mean, it's like you don't ever see your mom get sick because she handles everything. And it's kind of amazing I think to show people just how strong women are.
Be kind. It's worthwhile to make an effort to learn about other people and figure out what you might have in common with them. If you allow yourself to be somewhat curious — and if you get into the habit of doing that — it's the first step to being open minded and realizing that your points of view aren't totally opposite.
Trust the young people; trust this generation's innovation. They're making things, changing innovation every day. And all the consumers are the same: they want new things, they want cheap things, they want good things, they want unique things. If we can create these kind of things for consumers, they will come.
I went very close to the edge, but it's nice to have been strong enough to get through it. I'm lucky I had family, a good husband, and my mom. People like that help balance you. When you're feeling down and bad, it's the people that love you who kind of sort your head out for you.
