Sort by ratingI was curious and hungry at a young age, and jazz was such a mystery to me, an ocean where you can express yourself in the moment. It represented freedom, it represented wearing wings and going somewhere with music.
I love music, and a lot of it. Jazz is probably on the top with guys like Miles Davis. But I even enjoy music from the '60s and '70s.
I've gone the full spectrum — from gospel to blues to jazz to soul to pop — and the public has accepted what I've done through it all. I think it means I've been doing something right at the right time.
